The Default Mobily Elife Router Login Details
You can find the default admin login details printed on a label which is usually under the router. Check this label or use the following login details:
- Default IP address: 192.168.1.1
- Default User ID: user
- Default password: user
NOTE: In case you use custom admin login details you will have to login using them. If you don’t know the custom ones, you will have to factory-reset the router and then login with the default admin username and password.
How To Login To Mobily Elife Router?
Once you get everything ready the login process is pretty simple. Let’s take one step at a time.
STEP 1 – Connect To The Network Over WiFi Or Ethernet Cable
Although we have mentioned this in the “What you need” part, we have to do it again. The reason for this is that only devices connected to your network over WiFi or the network cable can be used to access the router admin dashboard. If the device is not part of the network, the login will be unsuccessful.
Therefore, take your device and connect it to the network first.
STEP 2 – Start Your Preferred Web Browser
After you connect the device, launch the web browser you use most frequently. It will help you access the router’s web-based interface and we have to point out that you don’t need internet connection for this. Please make sure the browser is recently updated. There have been situations where obsolete web browser versions have had some conflicts with the router’s web-based interface.
STEP 3 – Type 192.168.1.1 (The Mobily Elife IP Address) In The Address Bar
In the Address or URL bar of the browser you need to type the router’s IP address. In this case it is 192.168.1.1. After you enter this IP and press the Enter button you should be asked to enter a username and password.
In case that doesn’t happen, you need to check the following:
- Did you connect the device to the network?
- Did you type the IP in the URL bar? People often type it in the search bar and therefore the router login window doesn’t appear.
- Did you type the IP correctly?
- Is 192.168.1.1 the correct IP address? Follow the steps described in this guide to find the router’s IP address aka. The Default Gateway.
STEP 4 – Enter The Mobily Elife Admin Username and Password
When requested to enter the admin login details you need to type user in both fields and click the LogOn button.
NOTE: As you can see this password is pretty simple and can be guessed easily. This is why you need to change it. We are going to tell you how to do that later.
STEP 5 – Start Managing The Mobily Elife Router Settings
After you click on the LogOn button you will be taken to the router settings page. You shouldn’t have any problems finding the settings you want to change, but just to be safe it is recommended to backup the router settings first. You will revert the settings much easier in case something goes wrong.
And now, as you can see you can easily find the settings you want to modify. Just pay attention to both the horizontal menu at the top and the menu on the left as well.
As for the settings we mentioned you need to change, they are the default admin password and the wireless network name and WiFi password. Just these two changes will improve your network security. And if you want there is much more like MAC filtering, disabling WPS, enabling the integrated firewall, blocking specific devices from the network and so on.
Change The Mobily Elife Admin Password
The default admin password needs to be changed. It practically allows anyone to access your router settings without your permission. In order to prevent this, it is recommended to change it immediately during or after the router setup. In case you haven’t done it already here is where to find this setting.
When you login to your router, take a look at the top menu and click on System & Features.
Now, complete the following fields:
Old password – Enter the old admin password (user) here
New Password – Enter the new admin password here
Confirm Password – Type the new password again here. Do, not use copy/paste because you might have typed it wrong the first time.
Finally click on the Apply/Save button to confirm the changes.
Change The Mobily Elife WiFi Name And Password
When we talk about the network name, the truth is that all of us want either a more personal and recognizable network name. As for the password, it simply has to be unique and hard-to-guess. On top of everything, the wireless password has to be changed every month or two.
So, here is where to find these settings.
After you access the Mobily Elife router settings, click on Wireless in the horizontal menu at the top.
Now in the SSID field you can rename your current network name.
In case you only wanted to do this, click on the Apply/Save button at the bottom of the page.
Now, to change the wireless password, click on Security in the left-hand menu.
Now in the Select SSID field your network name will be selected. If you have more than one network name choose the one you want to make the changes to.
Now from the Network Authentication drop-down list select WPA2-PSK.
In the WPA/WAP Passphrase field enter the new wireless password
Click on the Apply/Save button.
In case you get disconnected, connect your device to the wireless network again, and don’t forget to do the same for all your wireless devices.
NOTE: Since you are on this page, take a look at the bottom of the page and make sure Enable WPS is set to Disabled. This is another security tweak you can apply in case it is enabled. This will disable the WPS button so no one can activate it in order to connect to your network if he or she doesn’t know the wireless password.
