But first, it is good to get some things ready in order to complete the login process without any issues.

You Are Going To Need
You need a device like a smartphone, tablet or a computer. Then you need to connect that device to the local network. And finally, you should have the Viasat router login details ready.
In the following section we are going to provide the default Viasat admin login details. You can also check the label on your Viasat router and see whether it has the admin login details printed on it.
However, if you know that the default login details have been changed by your ISP or someone else, you will have to login using the custom admin username and password.
What Are The Default Viasat Router Details?
These are the default Viasat router login details.
Default IP address: 192.168.100.1
Default admin username: admin
Default admin password: admin or check the sticker on your Viasat router
How To Login To Viasat Router?
And now if you have everything ready, let’s continue logging into our Viasat router step by step.
STEP 1 – Connect The Device To The Network
You need to connect your device to the network either by directly connecting it to the router using a network cable or connecting to your wireless network name if you know the wireless password.
If you can’t connect to the network you won’t be able to proceed with the Viasat router login steps.
The main problem here is that in order to access the router admin dashboard, the device has to be connected. If you don’t have network access, either wired or wireless, you won’t be able to login successfully.
STEP 2 – Start Your Web Browser
Now you should launch a web browser on your device. You can login using any of the browsers you have on your device. You can use Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera and so on. One thing to keep in mind here is to use an updated browser. In some situations, your web browser and the router’s web-based interface can have some issues if the browser version is too old.
STEP 3 – Enter The Viasat IP In The Address Bar
When you start the web browser, type the Viasat router IP into the browser’s Address bar and press the Enter key.
After you type the correct IP address, you should be asked to type the admin username and password. But, if there is an error or you aren’t requested to enter the username and the password, it is possible that you have either mistyped the IP address or that the router is using another one. You can check which IP your router is using by following this guide.
STEP 4 – Enter The Viasat Admin Login Details
After you type the correct IP the router login page should appear. You need to type the admin username and password now. As we have mentioned before, the admin username for your Viasat router is admin, and the password is admin too.
NOTE: If the admin password doesn’t work, check the label on your Viasat router and see whether admin is the correct password.
After you enter the correct admin login details, you will see the Viasat router admin dashboard. From that point on, you will have the possibility to configure the router settings according to your needs.
If you are not sure what you are doing, we recommend backing up the router configuration first. You shouldn’t have problems finding this option in the router settings. Just make sure to save the configuration file in case you need it later.
And now, after you have accessed the Viasat router settings successfully, we recommend setting up or changing the wireless password if you haven’t done it so far. This change will greatly increase your network security.
Change The Viasat WiFi Password
The WiFi password protects our wireless network from unauthorized access. We need to make sure that our network is well protected and that this password is strong and difficult to guess. Besides that, since we share our WiFi password too often, you should change it every few months.
1. Login to your Viasat router.
2. Click on The WiFi Settings tab. (If you are asked to login again after you click on the WiFi settings tab, enter the admin login details again.)
3. On this page you will have the option to customize both the 5 and 2.4GHz networks.
4. Complete the following fields to change the network name and password:
Network name (SSID) – enter the desired wireless network name here
Security Mode – select WPA2 Personal from the drop-down list.
Password – erase the previous password and enter the new one here.
5. Fill in the same fields for the 2.4 GHz network in the next section.
6. Save the new wireless settings now and reconnect your wireless devices.

Final Words
Hopefully, the steps described above have helped you access your Viasat router settings. There are some additional settings you can modify in order to increase the security of your network. You can create a separate Guest network, set up port forwarding for gaming, set up Parental Controls and so on.
Everything you do will take much less time than setting up your router again in case someone hacks your network. Therefore, take your time and at least make the two changes we have recommended in this article. And if you want to make some more security changes, feel free to read our article on how to change an unsecured wireless network to secure.
Hey, I’m David. I’ve been working as a wireless network engineer and a network administrator for 15 years. During my studies, I also worked as an ISP field technician – that’s when I met Jeremy.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in network engineering and a master’s degree in computer science and engineering. I’m also a Cisco-certified service provider.
In my professional career, I worked for router/modem manufacturers and internet providers. I like to think that I’m good at explaining network-related issues in simple terms. That’s exactly what I’m doing on this website – I’m making simple and easy-to-follow guides on how to install, set up, and troubleshoot your networking hardware. I also review new network equipment – modems, gateways, switches, routers, extenders, mesh systems, cables, etc.
My goal is to help regular users with their everyday network issues, educate them, and make them less scared of their equipment. In my articles, you can find tips on what to look for when buying new networking hardware, and how to adjust your network settings to get the most out of your wi-fi.
Since my work is closely related to computers, servers, and other network equipment, I like to spend most of my spare time outdoors. When I want to blow off some steam, I like to ride my bike. I also love hiking and swimming. When I need to calm down and clear my mind, my go-to activity is fishing.
