What You Need:
To complete your MiWiFi router login successfully, you need to get a device like a smartphone, tablet or a computer.
Then make sure to connect the device to your local network. You can choose between a wired and a wireless connection depending on the device.
And at last, check the following section or the label on the router to find the default MiWiFi admin login details.
What Are The Default MiWiFi Router Details?
These are the default admin login details we have found, but you can also check the sticker on the router to confirm they are the same.
Default MiWiFi router IP address: 192.168.31.1 or miwifi.com
Default admin password: The admin password is the same as the wireless password set during the initial router setup.
How To Login To MiWiFi Router?
Now we can proceed with the MiWiFi router login steps. If the login details are correct and the device is connected, the MiWiFi router login will be completed quickly.
STEP 1 – Is The Device Connected?
Why are we mentioning this again? Well, it’s so important that the login process can’t be completed without it. So, check whether the device is connected and also check whether it is connected to the right network. If it isn’t, connect it and proceed to the next step.
STEP 2 – Open The Web Browser
Get your device and open the web browser. You can use Firefox, Chrome, Edge, it really doesn’t matter, although some people recommend using Chrome or Edge only. If you have one of these two installed, use them just in case. However, it is important to have the browser updated.
STEP 3 – Enter The MiWiFi IP In The Address Bar
The default MiWiFi router IP address is 192.168.31.1. Type this IP into the browser’s Address bar and press Go or Enter on your device. This should make the MiWiFi router login page appear. This means that the IP is correct. In case you don’t see the router login page, you need to check whether the device is still connected, retype the IP address and try again, or check whether 192.168.31.1 is the correct router IP. There are also some more advanced checkups to make, like checking whether your device is obtaining IP automatically.
After these checkups, the MiWiFi router login page should appear asking you to enter the admin login details.
STEP 4 – Enter The MiWiFi Admin Username And Password
When requested, you need to type the MiWiFi router login details into the required fields and then click on the Login button. After that you should see the MiWiFi router admin dashboard. From this point on, you have admin privileges and access to all the settings on your router.
You can change a set of options to make your network more secure, create a Guest network, set up Port Forwarding or Parental Controls, and so on.
However, there are some settings we usually recommend changing in case you haven’t changed them by now. These are changing the default admin password, and also the wireless password. The WiFi password is most probably already set up, but it is recommended to change it from time to time, and this is why we will describe how to do it in the next few paragraphs.

How To Change The MiWiFi Network Name And Password?
The WiFi name can be easily changed to make it more personal or closely related to your business. The WiFi password on the other hand, protects your network from unauthorized access and keeps your personal files and data safe. That’s why it has to be strong and hard-to-guess, and has to be changed frequently.
Here is how to change the MiWiFi network name and password:
1. Login to your MiWiFi router.
2. Click on Settings in the top menu.
3. The Wi-Fi Settings section will open automatically.
4. Enter the new WiFi name into the Name field if you want to change it.
5. From the Encryption drop-down list select Mixed (WPA/WPA2 Personal).
6. In the Password field enter the new WiFi password.
7. Save the settings at the end and then update the wireless password on all your wireless devices.

Final Words
We hope that the steps described above have helped you access the MiWiFi router successfully. If you have changed the admin and wireless password, you can see how easy it is to make some changes in the settings.
However, we don’t recommend changing any of the settings you don’t understand. This can make the network unstable and will most probably require resetting the router to factory settings and setting up the router again. After that you will be able to login using the default login details.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in network engineering and a master’s degree in computer science and engineering. I’m also a Cisco-certified service provider.
In my professional career, I worked for router/modem manufacturers and internet providers. I like to think that I’m good at explaining network-related issues in simple terms. That’s exactly what I’m doing on this website – I’m making simple and easy-to-follow guides on how to install, set up, and troubleshoot your networking hardware. I also review new network equipment – modems, gateways, switches, routers, extenders, mesh systems, cables, etc.
My goal is to help regular users with their everyday network issues, educate them, and make them less scared of their equipment. In my articles, you can find tips on what to look for when buying new networking hardware, and how to adjust your network settings to get the most out of your wi-fi.
Since my work is closely related to computers, servers, and other network equipment, I like to spend most of my spare time outdoors. When I want to blow off some steam, I like to ride my bike. I also love hiking and swimming. When I need to calm down and clear my mind, my go-to activity is fishing.
