Do you want to change some of the Luxul router settings? Do you want to make the network name more personal and the WiFi password stronger? Well, you can do that easily from the router’s web-based interface. And there is much more to do.
However, you need to learn the Luxul router login steps first. After that, everything is pretty simple. But there are some things you need to do and find first.
So, let’s begin!
What You Need:
- Luxul wireless router
- PC, tablet or smartphone
- Access to the network over WiFi or the network cable
- The default router details
What Are The Default Luxul Router Details?
Here are the default Luxul router login details.
Default IP address: 192.168.0.1
Default username: admin
Default password: admin
In case you have changed these details during the initial setup please use the new ones. The username and the password are case sensitive, so be careful when typing them in the required fields.
How To Login To Luxul Router?
If you have prepared the login details we can start with the login process.
STEP 1 – Connect To The Local Network
Since you have used your Luxul wireless router to create your personal network, the device you are using to login needs to be connected to it. Depending on the device you can connect over WiFi or simply connect the device directly to the router using an Ethernet cable. If you don’t have access to the network, you won’t be able to access the Luxul router settings.
STEP 2 – Launch Your Web Browser
After you connect the device to the network, launch the web browser on your device. You can use any of the popular web browsers today (Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Edge, Opera). The web browser will let us see the router’s web-based interface which is designed to make the setup and changing the settings simple and straightforward.
STEP 3 – Enter The Luxul IP In The URL Bar
The default Luxul router IP is 192.168.0.1. You need to type this IP address into the browser’s URL bar and press Enter. If the IP is correct you will be asked to enter the admin username and password. However, if nothing happens, or you receive an error message, you should check whether 192.168.0.1 is the router’s Default gateway. If another IP is the Default gateway, like 192.168.1.254 or 192.168.1.1 or something similar, then use that one. This can happen if someone else or your ISP has changed the default router IP.
STEP 4 – Enter The Luxul Admin Username And Password
After you enter the router’s IP address and press Enter, a pop-up window should appear asking you to enter the admin username and password.
We have already mentioned that the default admin username is admin, and the password is also admin.
Enter these login details and click Log In.
STEP 5 – Check And Modify The Luxul Router Settings
The Luxul router web-based interface should appear now. All the settings you would like to change are carefully grouped in sections in the menu on the left. You can check them one by one, but be careful whenever you are changing something. It is always better to take a backup of the current router configuration. Or even better, don’t change the settings if you don’t understand what you are doing.
However, there are some changes that require your attention and that need to be changed. This will make your wireless network more secure.
How To Change The Luxul Admin Password?
As you could see the default Luxul login details are general ones. They are also printed on a label under the router so anyone who can physically access the router can get these details and use them to access your Luxul router. However, if you change the admin password, you can be safe that no one will do that.
So, after you login to your Luxul router, click on Administration in the menu on the left. When it expands, click on Admin Password.
Here you have to enter the new admin password twice just to make sure you have typed it correctly the first time. After that you can click on the Save button, and if you don’t plan to make any other changes, you can click on the Reboot button. A reboot is necessary so the changes can be applied.
How To Change The Luxul WiFi Name And Password?
By default, your Luxul router comes with a predefined network name (for example: Luxul_XWR3100 or Luxul_XWR3100_5G) and an Open connection. You have to change these during the initial setup if you haven’t done it so far. It is also recommended to change the wireless password occasionally because these days we tend to share our wireless password with everyone.
After you login to your Luxul router you should see the Quick Setup page. It will allow you to quickly access the network settings.
Since your wireless router supports both 2.4 and 5GHz network frequency, you need to make sure to configure them both.
So, scroll down to the Wireless Settings 2.4GHz Frequency section.
In the Network Name (SSID) field type the new network name.
Change the Security Mode from Open to WPA2.
Check the AES radio button.
The WPA Passphrase field will appear when you select the WPA2 security mode. There you can type the new wireless password. The wireless password has to be strong and unique. The recommended length is 10-12 characters.
Now make the same changes in the Wireless Settings 5GHz Frequency. Just make sure to add 5G or something similar at the end of the new network name just to know which network you will be using.
When you are done with the configuration, click the Save button and then Reboot the router to apply the changes.
Remember to connect your device or devices to the new SSID and use the new wireless password.
Now you know how to login to your Luxul wireless router and how to make your network a bit more secure. If you have decided to change the admin password, make sure to write down the default and the new one. You might need them again.
If you forget the new admin password, you will still be able to access the router settings, but only after you reset the router to factory settings. After that you will be able to login with the default login details and you will have to set up the network again. The reason for this is because the factory-reset brings the router back to its factory default settings.
Hey, I’m David. I’ve been working as a wireless network engineer and a network administrator for 15 years. During my studies, I also worked as an ISP field technician – that’s when I met Jeremy.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in network engineering and a master’s degree in computer science and engineering. I’m also a Cisco-certified service provider.
In my professional career, I worked for router/modem manufacturers and internet providers. I like to think that I’m good at explaining network-related issues in simple terms. That’s exactly what I’m doing on this website – I’m making simple and easy-to-follow guides on how to install, set up, and troubleshoot your networking hardware. I also review new network equipment – modems, gateways, switches, routers, extenders, mesh systems, cables, etc.
My goal is to help regular users with their everyday network issues, educate them, and make them less scared of their equipment. In my articles, you can find tips on what to look for when buying new networking hardware, and how to adjust your network settings to get the most out of your wi-fi.
Since my work is closely related to computers, servers, and other network equipment, I like to spend most of my spare time outdoors. When I want to blow off some steam, I like to ride my bike. I also love hiking and swimming. When I need to calm down and clear my mind, my go-to activity is fishing.
