What Are The Default MoFi Router Details?
If you haven’t changed these admin login details, you will be able to login to your moFi router using the following default admin login details:
Default IP address: 92.168.10.1
Default username: root
Default password: admin
However, if these have been changed earlier you will have to use the custom ones in order to login successfully.
How To Login To MoFi Router?
And now let’s see how you can login to your MoFi router step by step.
STEP 1 – Connect Your Device To The Network
Take your device and connect it to the network using the wireless password or connect the device directly to the router using an Ethernet cable. This is the first and most important step because only devices that are connected to the network can access the router admin dashboard.
STEP 2 – Launch The Web Browser
After you have connected the device, you have to launch the browser you already have on the device (Mozilla Firefox is recommended). The web browser is used to access the graphical user interface of the router settings and it definitely makes the router and network management much easier.
STEP 3 – Enter The MoFi IP In The URL Bar
When you launch the web browser, you need to enter the default MoFi router IP address 192.168.10.1 in the browser’s URL bar.
Pay attention to this step because many users make a mistake and enter the IP in the browser’s search bar. Instead of the MoFi router login page they see the results on the first page of Google. Also, make sure to enter the IP correctly and enter numbers only. It is a common mistake to enter the letter “l” and “O” instead of the digits “1” and “0”.
STEP 4 – Enter The MoFi Router Username And Password
At this point you will be asked to enter the MoFi admin username and password.
Once again, the default username is root, and the default admin password is admin.
If you know that these were changed please use the custom ones to access the MoFi router settings. Also, if you are still using the default username and password, we recommend changing the admin password as soon as possible.
STEP 5 – You Can Modify Your MoFi Router Settings Now
After you press the Login button, you should see the MoFi router admin dashboard. Take a look at the menu on the left and you can start going through the router settings and see what you want to change.
If you aren’t too sure what you are doing, we recommend backing up the router configuration. By doing this you will be able to restore the router to the previous settings if something goes wrong.
Since you have access to the router settings now we strongly recommend changing a few things that will make your wireless network much more secure.
How To Change The MoFi Router Admin Password?
Changing the default admin password will stop anyone changing the router settings without you knowing about it. This is a pretty simple task but you have to make sure that you are going to remember the new admin password. If you forget it you will need to reset the router to factory settings and reconfigure the network.
After you login to your MoFi router scroll all the way down and click on System in the left-hand menu.
The menu will expand and now find and click on Admin Password.
Enter the new admin password in the Password field. Now, enter the same password again in the Confirmation field.
Click on Submit and you will see a confirmation message saying Password successfully changed.
In case your web browser offers to save the admin password it is recommended to click Don’t Save, but if you really want to, you can save it.
How To Change The MoFi WiFi Name And Password?
Another thing that requires your immediate attention is the default network name (SSID). By default it starts with MOFINETWORK followed by the last four numbers from the MAC address of the router.
In the menu on the left click on Network and then on WiFi.
Now in the WiFi Basic Settings section find the Network Name (ESSID) field and delete the old wireless network name and enter the new one.
In the WiFi Security field select WPA2-PSK, Encryption should be set to AES.
In the Wireless Password/Key field delete the old wireless password and enter a new one. It is recommended to create one that is at least 10 characters long and made of numbers, small and capital letters and special characters.
Click the Save button to confirm your changes.
Final Words
We hope that this article has helped you access your MoFi router settings easily. Also, take your time and make the recommended changes. These will increase your network security and there’s so much more to do. However, if you aren’t sure what you are doing we don’t recommend changing any of the settings just to see what will happen. You can easily make your network unstable and even unusable. Then you will have to revert the changes from the backup you have created or reset the router to factory defaults and set up your router from scratch.
